Welcome to the ZiiP Gamestore!
Welcome to the wonderful website that we call The ZiiP Gamestore. You're probably looking at this page because you have questions about who we are, what we do and how we do it.
First of all, allow me to introduce myself - My name is James and I am the Director of the company (ZiiP Ltd). You may see me refered to in the gaming world and on the website as Jester.
Now, I know that it isn't usual for the Director's of large corporations to talk directly to their customer in this fashion - but well, we're not a large faceless corporation. We're an independent gamestore that just happens to play in the same market as the big boys like Amazon, GAME, GreenManGaming and Origin (to name but a few).
Now, I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that you have probably arrived at our website through a product link from Google or Bing or somewhere similar. Excellent - Our marketing is doing it's job right.
I'm going to take another shot and say that the reason that you are looking at this particular page is to find something out about us before you part with you hard earned cash. I don't blame you - we live in suspicious times, driven by cons and scams that plague the internet.. At least that is what we are told. You are probably right to be cautious and hopefully I can alleviate any fears that you may have with regard to ZiiP.
Let's start from the top shall we? Question One: Are we a scam? Are we going to run away to Mexico with your money? The obvious answer is No! - of course not! ...I'd rather go to the South of France if the truth be told.... I joke.. I joke...
Ok, serious. I know that our website isn't up to some of the standards like Amazon or Gamestop, but then, our website is developed on a fraction of the money that these larger companies spend on web development or a team to maintain it. Saying that, I do think it looks pretty sweet and far from basic or amatuer and I am always looking to improve it. Just because we don't share their budget, doesn't make us an automatic scam, does it?
What we have spent time and money on is security and creating a confident arena for our customers to shop in.
Below are a few of the areas that we have invested in:
Worldpay Card Handling Services
A professional shop needs a professional payment gateway and for us, we use Worldpay. The reason being is that Worldpay are part owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland and have direct links to Steamline, Visa, Mastercard and other payment system and also use 3D secure authentication on their payment. They've been in the merchant handling business a very long time and have a proven track record of dedicated customer service and faultless customer security.
I'd like to take this moment to point out something that many people do not seem to be aware of. That is the effort it takes for a business to apply for and create a merchant Worldpay account. It takes almost 6 months. It is NOT a 5 minute process that anyone can do - you have to provide a lot of documents to show who you are and how you run your business before they will even consider you.
A lot of people seem to be under the illusion that the best payment gateway on the internet is Paypal. Paypal perform barely any checks on new business signups and you can be collecting money through a website pretty much the same day.
If you are looking to do business with a company that has gone out of their way to look after your security and details - look for one that doesn't just use Paypal. Paypal has its benefits - but it certainly isn't the best.

Verisign SSL Security Certificate
Now then - What is an SSL? In a nutshell, it's a means of encrypting data that is sent between server pages on a website or between other websites. Why is it important? Because without it, there is a small chance that a hacker could intercept the packets of data that your PC sends out and read the information within it. This is why we don't just employ a standard budget SSL certificate like some sites to - No, we pay to have the same SSL certificate that all major websites and webstores have - a Verisign SSL certificate.
These certificates don't come cheap - and like our Worldpay account, they are not just given out instantly like some other SSL certificates. Our SSL certificate is an organisational certificate which means that Symantec (one of the biggest computer security firms on the planet) have vetted our company as being legitimate and official.
We hope that our Verisign SSL certificate installs even more confidence in you to shop with ZiiP.

Trustpilot Independent Review Site
It is all very well that I tell you that our company is awesome. We are awesome. What else am I going to say?
What you need to hear is comments from other customers that have used our service. This is why we have a fully registered Trustpilot account - A fully independent review website. No holds barred, our customers say as they feel. I'm happy to say that nearly all of our reviews are positive. For those that aren't, we have an ability to reply and give our version of events and resolve the problem.
I personally like to think that we resolve any customer service issues before they reach the stage of a negetive review and to date, I think we achieve this.
There isn't much more to say on this area other than go read our reviews on Trustpilot: Just click here.
We are an English Registered Company with UK VAT Registration
Whilst I appreciate that anyone can register a company, I hope it does install further confidence in knowing that you are dealing with a legitimate entity and not just some coder in a bedroom who has knocked up a website in a spare evening. As with the previously mentioned features that we've installed, you can't just start a company without proving who you are (multiple times) and without providing a lot of paperwork. When you enter the world of VAT registration, things get even more complex. (Believe me, many sleepless paper-filled nights)
Feel free to check us out at the UK governments company record office. Their website is Company's House - Our company number is: 07585392
Likewise, our VAT number is GB 138 451 705
Our registered business address is:
Ermine Business Park
Our suppliers and our stock
Ok, I'm afraid that i'm not going to be listing where I buy all my stock from - frankly, it took me many, many months to find the contacts and build the relationships that I have done to date. What I can do however is tell you that the whilst we strive to achieve the best prices we can in a very competitive market, we will not cut corners and sell anything that is considered "dodgy" or that will frankly bite us in the backside down the road. Making a quick buck is not benefitial to you or me.
All the products we sell are legally aquired. We've sold thousands of games since we created and never had a problems with anything that wasn't considered legitimate.
Unlike other stores, we will NOT sell anything that requires a VPN to activate. Nor will we sell a game that requires additional language files to be downloaded in order to operate. This is not how we do business.
It has regulary been brought to my attention that sometimes our pricing is "too good to be true" - and that actually puts people off buying from us! I find this somewhat ironic as I spend a proportion of my day swearing at other retailers and their pricing structure. We try to be as competitive as we realistically can - and if I manage to secure a bargain, then I try to pass that saving on to customers.
The fact of the matter is this: Sometimes we're cheap, sometimes we're not. Sometimes we have stock when others don't, sometimes it's the other way around. Sometimes we undercut ourselves. It is a competitive market with a lot of suppliers from many countries around the world. The thing you have to remember is that our products are new, genuine, unused and what you'd expect if you purchased a game anywhere else.
I hope this answers your questions. If you still have any - drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org - we'd love to hear from you!
