Who are ZiiP?

You've probably stumbled across this site whilst looking for games. You may have reached here via Google, or a link that someone recommended on a forum, or facebook or maybe through word of mouth. However you got here, you probably have a lot of questions about who we are, what we do - and probably most importantly with most things on the internet, are we genuine?

ZiiP was founded back in 2004 as a community for gamers, and as such, I'm used to speaking to people and explaining how things are run. It makes sense to do that here, and hopefully eliviate any fears you have as well as explain a few of our principles and how we operate.

ZiiP is a truly independent game store, something that is becoming a growing rarity in a market dominated by the giants like Amazon, Play and TheHut. We operate soley online from a small set of offices. We buy the latest games in large quantities to try and get the best deals from our suppliers, but we also focus on carrying a range of back-cat stock to help customers find old games too.

It's a competitive market, and our size sometimes limits our abilities to buy vast quantities of stock (in the thousands) at a discount price like our competitors do. However, that doesn't mean we don't work hard to negotiate with publishers, distributors and suppliers to give our customers some amazing deals and promotions. It also doesn't stop us from focusing on areas of the business that larger corporations sometimes miss out on, namely, customer service and actually providing support from a gamers point of view.

We also can provide services that larger retailers can not match. For example, whilst our primary market is to sell boxed stock to our customers, we can also offer a service where we provide the CD Key from the box and email it to you both we dispatch your game through the post. Should you not require the box, we can just sell the CD Key without the box - The choice is yours.

Where does that place us in the market?

Well, from our first year of trading we've made some interesting observations. Our pricing is reasonably competitive with other online retailers - however, we struggle against companies like TheHut, Zavvi, Play or Amazon that can operate outside of the EU economic region. However, due to how we operate, we can get you playing straight away.. so there many be a couple of pound difference in price, but is that saving worth having to wait 3 to 5 days for your game to arrive?

If you wanted to play a game the same day, and it was before 5:30PM, then you could go to your local video game shop - like GAME, for example. Sure, you could get your game - but we know that our prices are vastly cheaper than any bricks and mortar store. So again, it makes sense to go with us.. Also, You can't get a game from your local shop at 10PM at night, can you?

Our final competitor that we should mention is Steam and Origin themselves. Well, yes, they are instant.. and they are obviously extremely well known - But at the end of the day, if you compare our pricing, you see that for a majority of the time we are much much cheaper.. even during their "sales" we have beaten their pricing!

Why are we saying all this?

Our biggest issue at the moment, is breaking into people's minds! - What we mean by that is being recognised as a legitimate and mainstream company that people trust and want to return to. We can only do this by providing excellent customer service, showing how we are competitive, and letting our reputation precede us.
